Results of the World Health Summit 2013

The fifth World Health Summit brought more than 1,000 participants from more than 80 countries to Berlin, collectively working on solutions for the most pressing issues facing medicine and health care systems worldwide.

In this newsletter we want to provide you with facts, figures, and results of the WHS 2013 and an Outlook to the next WHS Regional Meeting, held in São Paulo from April 6 – 8, 2014.

WHS Ceremony 2013

More than 1,000 international participants worked together from October 20 – 22 in the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.

Irrespective of sectorial origins, it was mutually agreed that only timely joint action can overcome obstacles towards improving health worldwide.

Outlook to São Paulo

WHS Regional Meeting – Latin America, São Paulo

Date: April 6 – 8, 2014
Location: University of São Paulo Medical School – FMUSP

The WHS Regional Meeting – Latin America, to be held in São Paulo and organized by the University of São Paulo Medical School, will focus on Latin America´s health challenges. Ministers of Health from all over Latin America will be invited to share their firsthand experience of policy and health system reform.

Much like the annual meeting in Berlin and the inaugural WHS Regional Meeting – Asia, held in Singapore in April 2013, São Paulo will be a chance for NGOs, representatives of civil society and international aid organizations, playing major roles in public health and health care provision in Latin America, to meet and consult on the continent’s most pressing health issues.

The program will be organized along five tracks:
