More than 1,500 participants from more than 90 countries attended the seventh World Health Summit from October 11-13 at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.

Among them were about 260 international experts from academia, politics, the private sector, and civil society, holding active discussions in six keynotes, four panel discussions and 27 workshops on key topics such as refugee health, antimicrobial resistance, big data, and the effects of climate change on health (in preparation for the December UN Climate Change Conference in Paris).

At the closing ceremony, WHS Presidents Detlev Ganten (Berlin) and Shunichi Fukuhara (Kyoto) released the M8 Alliance Statement 2015, calling on global leaders to take bold action on five topics central to global health.

Since its first edition in 2006, the Geneva Health Forum (GHF) has become a space for dialogue and exchange between practitioners, university hospitals, the public and private sectors, international and non-governmental organizations.

In 2016, several sessions of the GHF will be designed in collaboration with the World Health Summit and the M8 Alliance. Faithful to the GHF spirit, the WHS Geneva Meeting will offer the opportunity to have an open and constructive debate on innovation in healthcare.
